It was about a year ago. He, a professional magician, called the entertainment trade magazine for which she worked to order a subscription. She, a reporter, mistakenly got the call.

 

She tried to transfer him, but he kept talking. So she listened, hoping his story might turn out to be one she could use. As it turned out, it wasn't.
